        San Marcos is located 12 miles from the Pacific Ocean and in the direct path of an ocean breeze that gives it beautiful weather almost on a daily basis, allowing for almost any recreational pursuit. The area has grown from the 1950's on when the first water arrived from the Colorado River arrived and after that several small business started to spring up along with the population. Today, this beautiful community is now a thriving city of 73,000 residents who enjoy its rolling hills and gorgeous views. Public beaches are just minutes away and San Marcos residents can take full advantage of any and all water sports; surfing, swimming, boating and water-skiing. Located in the NorthEast of San Diego County, San Marcos sits at an elevation of about 680 feet and is located 301 miles Southwest of Las Vegas, 98 miles southeast of the metropolitan area of Los Angeles, and 35 miles North of San Diego. San Marcos observes an average of 298 days of sunshine per year, with temperatures in the low 40's to high 70's in the winter months, and low 50's to low 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months. There is no shortage of Night Clubs here and in the surrounding areas with plenty to choose from and for all ages and styles. San Marcos borders Carlsbad, which offers an array of golfing and tennis.
